History of Ski School Kreischberg - Mayer
In 1975, the first two chairlifts and an anchor lift were installed on Kreischberg and kicked off the development of Kreischberg into a ski and snow sports centre. Three years later, in 1978, state certified ski and snow sport instructor Florian Mayer founded the Ski School Kreischberg. In the initial years skiing classes were held by Florian Mayer and his friend Franz Seidl, and mainly took place during Christmas and mid-term holiday seasons.
As winter sport on Kreischberg became more and more popular over the years, Florian started to expand the ski school offering and to recruit additional ski instructors. Upon completion of the 6-seat cable car and introduction of modern machine snow systems in the early 90s, winter tourism on Kreischberg started booming and the ski school operating hours were extended to the entire season from Christmas to Easter.
Florian can count on the continuous support of the entire ski school staff as well as his entire family. During the season of 2007/2008, Florian’s nephew Christoph completed the state-certified ski instructor and ski guide training in St. Christoph am Arlberg. He furthermore worked as ski instructor in Australia in the summer of 2009. Since beginning of the season 2009/2010, Florian and Christoph have been jointly running the Ski School Kreischberg.
On behalf of the entire team, Florian and Christoph wish you a successful and unforgettable time at Ski School Kreischberg – Mayer!
